Rev. Dr. Jacob is a wedding officiant who believes that every ceremony should be personable and memorable. Each of his ceremonies are structured to provide an enjoyable experience that reflects the love and dedication of the wedding party.
From the time that he was a young man, “Rev. Jake” had an interest in the ties between mind, body and spirit. Through the study of martial arts, he was exposed to Eastern philosophy and culture, broadening his cultural and spiritual horizons. A man of diverse interests, and always feeling a strong connection to nature, Jacob used his time as a Baltimore City park ranger to learn about wild, edible mushrooms and fruit-bearing trees while studying music at several universities. He earned a masters degree and a doctorate in Music Composition from the Peabody Institute and the University of Maryland.
In 2009 he became an ordained reverend. Having been to a few lackluster wedding ceremonies, Jacob envisioned ordination as a form of public service. Performing weddings for family and friends for several years, he honed his skills as an orator and as a strong, reliable presence on wedding days. Jacob is a great public speaker and has a passion for language. As a music professor, he is energetic and humorous, making the usually painful subject of music theory a joy to learn. Teaching private lessons and classes on weekdays, Jacob is able to communicate with individuals and with groups of people with skill and ease.
Having performed wedding ceremonies in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Maryland, Jacob is an experienced officiant. He puts everyone in the wedding party at ease because he is comfortable in this setting and enjoys the atmospheric energy just before a ceremony.
